Office Assistant

Deep Blue Athletics, a dynamic and welcoming facility specializing in cheerleading, tumbling, camps, and special events, is seeking a reliable, organized, and personable Office Assistant to join our team in a part-time role (24-32 hrs/week). As a key member of our front-office team, you will help create a positive, efficient, and professional experience for our athletes, families, and visitors.

 

Position Overview

The Office Assistant is often the first point of contact at Deep Blue Athletics. This role plays an important part in supporting daily operations, assisting families, and helping ensure the gym runs smoothly and efficiently.

 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist athletes, parents, and visitors in a warm, friendly, and professional manner

  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to emails and inquiries in a timely way

  • Provide accurate information about programs including cheer, tumbling, camps, and events

  • Assist with athlete registration, enrolment, and onboarding processes

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming front desk and office area

  • Support staff and management with administrative tasks as needed

  • Assist with scheduling, payments, and basic data entry

  • Help coordinate communication related to events, competitions, and gym activities

  • Collaborate with coaches and program coordinators to support daily operations

 

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Friendly, confident, and customer-service oriented

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic computer skills including, outlook, word, excel and familiarity with Trello would be an asset

  • Experience in an office, receptionist, or customer service role is an asset

  • Familiarity with cheerleading, tumbling, or youth programming is an asset

  • Current First Aid and CPR is not required but would be an asset

 

Work Hours

  • Part time position 24-32 hrs/week

  • All shifts are afternoon/evenings and Saturdays

  • Opportunity for increased hours based on availability and gym needs

  • Pay rate of $18-20/hour based on qualifications and experience

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Professional appearance and positive demeanour

  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable

  • Comfortable working with children and families

Tumbling Coach

Deep Blue Athletics, a dynamic and welcoming facility specializing in cheerleading, tumbling, camps, and special events, is seeking a reliable, organized, and personable tumbling coach to join our team in a part-time role (10-15 hrs/week). 

 

Position Overview

Our tumbling coaches  are responsible for both planning and teaching tumbling classes to a wide variety of levels and ages. Applicants must have excellent class management skills!

 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist athletes, parents, and visitors in a warm, friendly, and professional manner

  • Write and/or follow lesson plans as provided by the tumbling coordinator

  • Be able to manage a tumbling class from start to finish, including setting up stations/circuits, participating in all warm up activites with the athletes and spotting skills as needed. 

  • Support staff and management with additional tasks as needed

  • Collaborate with coaches and program coordinators to support daily operations

 

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Friendly, confident, and customer-service oriented

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment

  • Confident in spotting 

 

Work Hours

  • Part time position 10-15 hrs/week

  • All shifts are afternoon/evenings and weekends

  • Opportunity for increased hours based on availability and gym needs

  • Pay rate of $15-18/hour based on qualifications and experience

 

Requirements​

  • Professional appearance and positive demeanour

  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable

  • Comfortable working with children and families

  • Certification from either Cheer Canada or NCCP

  • Current First Aid and CPR
